PARADISO LIMITED EDITION 2024
PIGMENTARIUM x LAURA LIMBOURG
The atmosphere of hot summer nights, the energetic wind blowing from the sea, and the meditative shade under the coastal groves are captured in the limited edition of Paradiso fragrance, created exclusively for Pigmentarium by Laura Limbourg. This young Czech painter and sculptor, born in Belgium, has studied in Prague, London, and Taiwan. She first gained significant attention with her graduation project at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, for which she created a series of monumental three-meter vases. The presentation of these works in the AVU studios was also the first encounter between the Pigmentarium team and Laura, whose distinctive artistic style has been notably influenced by her long-term stay in Southeast Asia. Her expressive painting, infused with jungle floral motifs, the omnipresent dragon, and the powerful theme of women—often young girls from the streets of Asian metropolises—reflects her deep connection to the region. The life stories of these girls, affected by the widespread issue of sex tourism in this area, are captured in her works. Laura not only documents these stories but also contributes to solutions through her voluntary work, helping the girls return to a fulfilling life. Her art portrays women as strong, confident beings, often accompanied by a tiger, their symbolic protector.
Laura's creations, including oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, pastels, and distinctive concrete vases in both realistic and oversized dimensions, have already found their way into numerous European and global galleries, including those in Brussels and New York. In Prague, her work is represented by DSC Gallery. The preparation of the artistic collection for Pigmentarium began in the spring after several energetic meetings in Laura’s studio, situated in the monumental romantic building of Gabriel Loci with a view of Prague. To capture the fragrance's mood, Laura chose significant motifs from her works that ideally symbolize the experience under the blazing sun, the quivering palm leaves, and the emotions of a summer night. The Tiger, Dragon, and Heron, hand-painted on the perfume boxes, and the palm tree depicted in red directly on the bottle’s glass. This exceptionally limited series of original signed pieces is available exclusively online at pigmentarium.com.
